Mistra SAMS Phase 2, 2021-2024
Our research takes an holistic approach represented by Citizen perspectives, Policy actors and Market actors. The Mistra SAMS living labs provide a basis for in-depth research on all three perspectives.
At the center of the Phase 2 in Mistra SAMS are three perspectives: Citizen perspectives, Policy actors and Market actors. The holistic approach represented by these perspectives is key to a better understanding of opportunities for a transformation to a sustainable transport system. Equally important is how the interactions between each perspective affect the transformation process.
Phase 2 of Mistra SAMS continues to explore the potential for new mobility and accessibility services through a living-lab approach. The research team has continued to work with Living Lab 2 in Tullinge, a local work-hub. The main focus has been to develop and test services on a digital platform, which could lead to avoiding transport and shifting modes of transport.
One specific intervention will involve testing “public transport on demand”. In Phase 2 of the research program, an additional Living Lab 3 has been developed and implemented, designed to complement previous research in terms of contexts, participants and design interventions. Living Lab 3 involves more emphasis on participants’ transportation in everyday life. The focus is to explore how to shift the modes of transport used and improve transport systems to contribute to sustainable mobility and accessibility. This includes leisure travel and last-mile freight delivery, taking children to activities and – for some groups – how to get to “weekend homes”.
